‘GooGuns posts nothing but strings of letters and numbers, like b39e65fa00000000 in intervals of about five minutes on average. The string of characters always ends with zeroes, occasionally with the location service turned on, so you can see that 554705fa00000000 was allegedly tweeted from the “Region of Khabarovsk.” This has been going on all day and all night, for years, with more than 318,000 tweets posted since 2009. But why?’

This would appear to be the control channel for a botnet. Twitter has been known to he used for such purposes.

It doesn’t make sense because it doesn’t make sense. Supply-side economics doesn’t work as well as demand-side: Increasing demand will lead more suppliers to enter the market, but increased supply doesn’t guarantee that shit will sell.

That being said, payroll taxes being too high can cause some employers to not hire more workers, even when they need additional capacity, but lowering employment taxes will not increase employment, all other things being equal. (“Ceteris Paribus”, as economists say.)

Apple makes good products, but lately the whole company has been acting like a giant bully. It’s impossible to make a modern smartphone without infringing onsomebody’spatent, so everybody else cross-licenses patents out of court when threatened with an infringement suit. Not Apple; they take it to court and use sneaky tactics to disallow their opponent’s evidence, then ask for a complete import ban.

I honestly hope the Motorola Mobility lawsuit is successful, and the iPhone, iPod, iPad and most Mac computers are banned from import. Let Apple have a little taste of their own medicine.

I really wish the Doctor was real. Because then he could solve all the world’s problems in an hour, with enough time to spare for commercials. But, no matter how hard we wish, we’ll never hear the magnificent VWORP VWORP of the TARDIS engine.

So we have to be our own Doctors. Always travel with good friends. Blow into town, have zany adventures, and never be too mature. But, perhaps more importantly, always leave each place you visit better than it was before. Because that’s what the Doctor does.

When discussing how “hax” Time Lords are, I usually like to fall back on the fact that they invented the laws of physics and erased magic from their multiverse.

I have, however, found a better one.

TARDISes are built using advanced mathematical concepts. I don’t just mean that advanced mathematical concepts are required to engineer something like a TARDIS, since that’s obvious. What I mean is that TARDISes are literally built out of advanced mathematical concepts.

A TARDIS is a pure mathematical construct.

Let that sink in for a moment, and you’ll understand how truly insane the whoniverse is.

I’ve had an idea about how time travel works in Doctor Who…

It’s often been stated that a time traveller cannot interact with his or her past, or the universe will be destroyed. Even though every single multi-doctor special contradicts this, there is a small kernel of truth: The time traveller must know they’re supposed to go back, otherwise they risk creating a paradox.

This was the problem in “Father’s Day,” as any change Rose made would have resulted in problems. The entirety of series 6, however, is different. My guess is that the Doctor interfered with his own past on purpose, so he’d be able to fake his own death while still keeping the timeline intact.. If my logic holds, this interference is what created the “fixed point,” since averting the Doctor’s “death” would have resulted in multiple paradoxes.

P.S. In a similar vein, it’s also often stated on the show that, once a time traveller arrives on a scene, the timeline is fixed and further travel backwards/forwards within that part of time is impossible. This obviously isn’t the case all the time, but here’s the deal: Every time this is done, it’s using non-TARDIS time travel! I have a feeling that the TARDIS’s defences form a small-scale time lock, as part of an anti-paradox safeguard.
